Freshwater Fishing

The most common freshwater fish are brown trout (ørret) and Arctic char (røye).

Since many freshwater lakes are connected to the sea by rivers, there are good chances of catching sea trout (sjøørret) and salmon.
The closest freshwater is only 500 metres away. There are also several larger lakes nearby where you can combine fishing with hiking or bring a canoe.

Kørelen, located 1.5 kilometres from Sotra Rorbusenter, is one of the largest freshwater lakes on Sotra. It has plenty of fish, and a brown trout weighing over 4 kg has been caught here.
